Summary

AI Website Cloner is a Chrome extension for inspecting the design and code of web pages. It works entirely in your browser. It does not collect, transmit, sell or share your personal data, and it has no accounts, analytics, advertising or remote code.

What the extension reads, and when

The extension reads a page only after you act: you click its toolbar icon, which gives it access to that one tab, or you allow it on all sites from its panel, and then you choose Inspect. It then reads the page's HTML, styles, fonts, colours, images and other resources, and may take an image of the visible part of the tab, so that it can show them in the side panel.

All of this is processed on your device. Nothing the extension reads is sent to us or to anyone else.

• When you download an asset, the extension fetches that file directly from the website that serves it, without your cookies, and checks it before saving it.
• When you copy code, it goes to your clipboard. Files you save go where your browser saves downloads.

What the extension stores

In Chrome's extension storage on your device, the extension keeps only whether its first-run screen has been shown, an internal settings version and, if the uninstall link could not be set, a short error code. It stores no page content, browsing history or personal data. Removing the extension deletes this storage.

Permissions

• activeTab: access to the current tab, only after you click the toolbar icon.
• scripting: runs the inspector in the page you chose to inspect.
• storage: the few settings listed above.
• sidePanel: shows the extension next to the page.
• Access to all sites: optional, asked for only when you choose it in the panel, so you can inspect any site and save its assets without clicking the icon each time.

The uninstall survey

When you remove the extension, Chrome opens a short survey on this website. Answering is optional. If you send an answer, we store the reason you chose, any text you typed and the time it was received. We do not store your IP address, browser details or cookies with it, and our web server does not log requests to that page. We use the answers only to improve the extension and never sell or share them.

This website

For other pages of websitecloner.dev, our web server keeps standard logs (IP address, browser user agent, page requested and time) for up to 14 days, for security and operations. The website sets no cookies and uses no analytics.

Children

The extension is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

We will publish any change to this policy on this page and update its date.
